S/MC LITTLE LEAGUE

The Shamokin-Mount Carmel Little League has been and continues to be an upstanding member of Little League Organization for over 40+ years.

For a time within the 1980's and 1990's, there were actually (2) leagues within the city of Shamokin and Coal Township area. They were the Shamokin/Coal Township Little League and the Anthracite Miners Junior League. During the early part of the 2000's, both of those leagues merged to become the Shamokin-Coal Township Little League and played within the District 24 boundaries.

 

Within the past few years and with Little League restructuring, we now can include children from the Mount Carmel area to play in our league. We have renamed to “Shamokin-Mount Carmel Little League” and currently play within District 13. For the 2019 season, we have merged with the softball "Lady Bombers" to include Major division aged players into our SMC League.

Our league is run by a “Board of Directors”. It consists of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Player Agent, Safety Officer, Equipment Manager, Umpire-In-Chief, and 6 Members- at-Large. Refer to the current list of board members below.

The Shamokin-Mt. Carmel Field Complex is located in Coal Township and comprised of 3 fields (2 regulation sized little league fields & 1 rookie/t-ball field). Our Ferndale Field (Main field) is named after the small area of Coal Township it is located within and has been in existence for approximately 45-50 years. The Faust Field (Secondary field) was converted from an adult softball field around the same time our Jasmine Stoud Memorial Field (Rookie & T-ball divisions) developed, approximately 8-10 years ago.
